Bush Favorability Rating Rises
President Bush's standing among Americans in the IBD/TIPP Presidential Leadership Index rose 6.3% to 38.7, the highest level since last September and a solid improvement over the low of 33.1 hit last June. Despite the current mortgage meltdown and housing bust, Bush's popularity has rebounded as his ground strategy in Iraq has started to bear fruit. This is reflected in his job approval rating, which jumped 8.9% to 38.1. Also rising were Bush's Favorability rating, up 6.1% to 36.5, and his Leadership score, which rose 4.3% to 41.5.
